Privacy Policy

Custom Control Drivers LLC respects your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect when you use our website, our RTI XP drivers, and our companion apps including the RTi Companion app for iOS and Android, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

Account email: required so we can send your login link and license keys, and contact you about your purchases.

Purchase records: the drivers you buy, the processor MAC address you bind each license to, and the transaction record returned by Stripe. We do not store card numbers; Stripe handles payment processing.

License records: when you bind or move a license on our website, we record the time, the processor MAC address, and the IP address and browser type of that request, to verify the license and prevent fraud. Our drivers check their license on your processor; a licensed driver does not contact us to do it.

Beta driver confirmations: a beta driver sends us one confirmation per driver version, when it first reaches the device it controls: the processor MAC address, the device's model and firmware, and the driver version. This tells us the beta works on real equipment.

Forms you send us: beta sign-ups (email, processor MAC address, the equipment you list, and your notes), driver suggestions (email and device details), and update notices (email and the driver you want news about; every notice has an unsubscribe link).

Trial download statistics: when you download a trial driver, we record which driver, when, the page that sent you, your browser type, and an anonymous visitor code. The code is made from your IP address with a secret key and cannot be turned back into it; it lets us count how many different people try each driver. We do not store your IP address for this. We use these statistics only to improve our drivers and website.

Download protection: trial downloads are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a quick check that a person, not an automated program, is downloading. Cloudflare processes information from your browser to run the check (see cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). We record whether the check was shown, passed, or failed, with the same anonymous visitor code.

Cloud connections: some drivers connect to a manufacturer's cloud through our servers (for example Samsung SmartThings and Honeywell Home), and the RTi Companion app can reach your processor through our relay. Our servers pass the sign-in and the device messages between the manufacturer or your phone and your processor. Your driver keeps its own sign-in; we do not keep it long term. During setup we hold it, encrypted, for up to one hour until your driver collects it. When your driver renews its sign-in, we keep an encrypted copy of the new one for up to 24 hours, so a power cut or lost connection mid-renewal does not disconnect you. Device messages waiting for your processor are kept for up to 5 minutes.

Server logs and security: standard request logs (IP address, time, page) are kept for up to 30 days. For requests we refuse as automated (bots and scrapers), we keep the IP address and the name of its network for up to 30 days to stop abuse.

What we do not collect

• Card numbers or bank details (Stripe handles payments).
• Advertising IDs, or data for third-party advertising or trackers.
• Anything about how you use your system, such as media or room contents. Device messages we relay are passed through, not kept beyond the times above.
• The IP address of a person downloading a trial driver.

How long we keep it

• Account, purchase, and license records: as long as your account or license exists.
• IP addresses in logs and on refused automated requests: up to 30 days.
• Trial download statistics: kept, with no IP address.
• Form submissions: until you ask us to delete them, or unsubscribe.

Who we share with

• Stripe: for payment processing only. See stripe.com/privacy.
• Cloudflare: for site hosting, DDoS protection, and the download check.
• Fly.io: for hosting our license and relay servers.
• Resend: for sending our emails (login links, license keys, receipts, notices).
• The manufacturer you connect: when you set up a cloud driver, you sign in with that manufacturer, and our servers exchange messages with it on your behalf.

We do not sell or rent your data and we do not share it for marketing purposes.

Companion apps

The RTi Companion app communicates only between your phone and your RTI processor (directly or through our relay). It does not collect contacts, location, microphone audio, or any other system data.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, delete your account, or transfer your license at any time by emailing support@customcontroldrivers.com.

Children

Our website and products are for professionals and homeowners, not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change when we do. Material changes will be announced on this page.
